The electrical power supply in Turkey is 220~230/50hz volts. Plug types are C & F.
Turkish currency is Turkish Lira (TL). You can exchange currency upon your arrival at any airport, or at banks within Istanbul. Most banks are open during business hours, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. A few banks may also be open on Saturday afternoons. Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) are abundant throughout the city and may accept some international bankcards to dispense cash. Check with your financial institution to discuss your access to banking in Turkey. Most major credit cards are accepted at businesses, restaurants, and hotels, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club.
Official invitations may be obtained to facilitate participants attempting to obtain supporting funds, visas or permissions to attend the Symposium. Please write to the Symposium Office specifying any special information that may be required. Please note these invitations are specifically for the purpose of obtaining visas and do not imply any financial commitment on the part of the Symposium Secretariat. Applications for invitation letters must be received at least 30 days prior to the Symposium.
All participants will be required to wear their badge at ALL times during the Symposium. Those without badges will not be allowed to attend the sessions or social events. Separate badges will be provided for all registered accompanying persons and will be required for admission to the Opening Reception, Coffee Breaks and Lunches.
IAPS 2009 Symposium / Exhibition and the IAPS 2009 Symposium Office cannot be held responsible for any personal injury, loss, damage, accident to private property or additional expenses incurred as a result of delays or changes in air, rail, sea, road or other services, strikes, sickness, weather or any other cause. Participants are, accordingly, advised to take out their own insurance.
If you reside outside Turkey, please be advised that you should arrange for your own health insurance policy for the duration of your stay in Turkey before your arrival. We cannot guarantee that free health care will be provided for non-Turkish residents travelling in Turkey. Consult with your travel agent regarding health insurance available for travel into Turkey. IAPS 2009 does not endorse nor assume responsibility for any of companies that offer international health coverage. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.
